From the recording Home
"Home" is a song written while driving across the country from California back home to Michigan and Ohio and later to Florida. It reflects on the many positive feelings and memories as a child growing up in not a perfect, but caring family who along with many good friends have always been there for me with love, support and “open arms”. Hope you enjoy and it inspires you during the up- coming holidays and throughout the year to spend time with those you hold most “dear”🏡🎃❤️🦃🙏🎄🎵
Lyrics
Home
Home, home
I’m coming home
Back to where I belong
Where my friends and family
Wait with open arms for me
Home, home
I’m coming home
Please dust off my old bedroom
Ask grandma if she will bake
Her famous “double chocolate cake”
The memories are so strong
But it’s been too far to long
Since we laughed, and danced, and hugged
And gave thanks to God above
Home, home
I’m coming home
No more holidays alone
Let’s sing songs of Christmas cheer
Even though Summertime is here
The memories are so strong
But it’s been too far to long
Since we laughed, and danced, and hugged
And gave thanks to God above
Home, home
I’m coming home
Two more days out on the road
Till I see that “welcome” sign
Proudly on the township line
Home, home
Sweet home
